Liars Lodge Luxury Fishing Retreat (available April 18-May 25)

 

Enjoy two nights lodging at the luxurious Liars Lodge Bed and Breakfast and a full day of Guided Float Fishing with Four Corners Rafting on the Arkansas River near Salida and Buena Vista.  This full package is only $529 for two people, including all taxes and user fees.

 

Liars' Lodge is a modern log lodge built just before the turn of the century (the last one, of course). With 23 pinion covered acres, the lodge sits right on the banks of the Arkansas River with over one-third mile of virtually exclusive river frontage that allows for private fishing access during your stay. 

 

Enjoy a full mountain breakfast in the riverside dining area, or outdoors on the deck above the river, or dine in the solarium as the sun bathes Mt. Princeton in warm morning colors.  Travel to Four Corners Rafting, just 15 minutes from the Liars Lodge to start your float fishing adventure down the Arkansas River.  In the evening explore the local restaurants with our recommendations, relax comfortably in the lodge’s huge great room with 25-foot ceilings and a massive rock fireplace and then retire to your room with its own private attached bath, some with Jacuzzi tubs.

 

The Guided Float Fishing trip will run on Class II-III sections of the Arkansas River, renowned for it’s spectacular fishing opportunities,  Float fishing is the best way to gain access to the best fishing opportunities, specific river sections will be chosen based on water levels, fishing patterns, and seasonal hatches.  We offer both fly-fishing and spin-fishing with artificial flies and lures only.  Fly fishers should be accomplished casters, as fishing from a raft requires a comfortable skill level in order to be successful.  Beginning fishers can rent spinning rods and reels from us and with a little practice are very successful.  We provide experienced guides with many years of whitewater and fishing experience.  Each guide rows 2 fishermen in each raft, which are specifically designed and outfitted for float fishing.  A delicious river-side lunch is included in the trip, and there will be opportunities to get out and walk or wade fish some of the pools and banks.  We suggest bringing rain gear, extra insulated clothing, and of course sunscreen.  Please feel free to call for more information regarding specific fishing equipment and/or necessary fishing licenses.
